Christian Books for Kids
As a Christian parent, I want my children exposed to literature that supports who we believe Jesus to be. Finding Christian books for kids has been important for us in helping us make that happen.
I went ahead and compiled a list of some of our favorite kids Christian books, as well as added a few that are on our list of Christian kids’ books to check out.
There are Christian board books for kids, Christian picture books for kids, Christian chapter books for kids, Christian book series for kids, and Christian Bible studies for kids, in that order. So scroll through to find what you’re looking for!

Christian Board Books for Kids
My Little Library
This set of 12 Christian board books for kids will introduce your child to 12 common Bible stories. Kids will be introduced to some of the most familiar people from the story of Jesus and his ministry.
The Gospel Board Book for Kids
A great way to introduce a child to Jesus is with this Christian board book called The Gospel. It is a simple, relatable, picture introduction to the gospel with simple explanations of how God created everything, and why we have salvation.
God Gave Us You
We were given God Gave Us You as a baby shower gift. It quickly became one of my favorite board books to read to our baby each day. I love the illustrations, and I love the story that it tells of how God chose our baby just for us. It’s a beautiful reminder that every baby is chosen by God.

Another great Christian book for kids that is a reminder of how unique and amazing God created each of us to be is When God Made You. It’s a great reminder that God is intentional when He makes each of us and He makes no mistakes. We are loved and created by an incredible God.
Wherever You Go, I Want You to Know is a book that reminds kids that no matter what happens in their lives, and wherever their journey takes them, God is always there and part of their story. This makes a great birthday gift for kids, or even a kid’s Christmas gift or baptism gift.
The Garden, The Curtain, and the Cross
The Garden, The Curtain, and the Cross is a book we read together every Easter. I love that it tells about the crucifixion of Jesus and how his death led to our salvation. This is a beautifully illustrated book for Christian kids.
The Oak Inside the Acorn
This picture book by Max Lucado is all about how God has created each of us to be unique, but we are still a part of Him because He created us. The Oak Inside the Acorn talks about how, as we grow, we learn, and parts of us we didn’t see a purpose for, God uses that for His good in His time.

Christian Chapter Books for Kids
Patrick Wigglesworth’s Bizarre Bible Adventure
This book has developed into a Christian book series for kids, but it started with the release of just this book, and my kids loved it! These books take you from Patrick’s bedroom into the Bible, where he goes on an adventure to something that happened in the Bible and is there in time. These fun Bible adventure books are great for boys and girls alike.
Teaching children about Jesus is important, but at times, it can make it hard to be relatable to their little minds.
Little Pilgrim’s Progress
Another great Christian chapter book for kids, “Little Pilgrim’s Progress,” is a spinoff from Pilgrim’s Progress. This story walks children through the trials and triumphs of what it means to walk the Christian life.

Lightkeepers 10 Girls Complete Box Set is a set of stories about real girls in history whom God used for His purpose. This 5-book set includes “Ten Girls Who Changed the World”, “Ten Girls Who Used Their Talents”, “Ten Girls Who Made History”, “Ten Girls Who Didn’t Give In”, and “Ten Girls Who Made a Difference”.
The Prince Warriors Paperback Series
A great book series about facing enemies, The Prince Warriors paperback series contains 4 books: “The Prince Warriors”, “The Prince Warriors and the Unseen Invasion”, “The Prince Warriors and the Swords of Rhema”, and “The Winter War”. Each book takes you into the unseen world of Ahoratos, and the brothers use their armor to face the enemy. Each book is relatable and encouraging, as we remember we have what we need to face the ultimate enemy.
Imagination Station Book Series
Another great adventure book series, the Imagination Station books, takes cousins Patrick and Beth on a journey around the world as they go back in time. Kids will meet prominent characters in history who played a role in growing Christianity.

Bible Study for Kids
If you’re looking for a Bible study for younger kids, this is a great choice for you. Appropriate for kids ages 3-10, this family Bible Study for Kids has a daily reading and an activity for a child to complete.
How Great Is Our God
If you’re looking for a daily devotion to read with your kids, How Great Is Our God is a great choice. This book by, Louie Giglio talks about the relationship between God and science and how amazing it is that God created everything in this world. We like to read it each night with our younger kids.
The Bible Recap Bible Study for Kids
The Bible Recap Kids Devotional book is great for families who want an interactive, activity-based Bible study for kids. Together, you’ll complete a daily reading, and then the kids will get to complete the accompanying activity for each day. The Bible Recap for Kids is more of a daily scripture reading for kids that comes with a quick scripture reading with an explanation. We have this series, and the thing I most appreciate is that there is a book for adults called The Bible Recap. So every person in your family can read together, at their own level, for an entire year, and be able to have conversations about scripture. How cool is that?!?!
Another great Bible study book for kids is The Bible Made Easy- for Kids. We have used this kids’ Bible study and found it useful as a supplement to our Christian homeschool curriculum. It’s a great reference tool as kids learn how to read and understand the Bible. It’s a great introductory Bible study for kids.
