Homeschool Supply Storage
Hello, fellow homeschool mommas!
I have shared about our homeschool journey and how we chose our homeschool curriculum, as well as how we decided to homeschool.
But one thing that I want to share more about is our homeschool supply storage. A real-life look into how a fellow homeschool mom is finding creative homeschool storage solutions.
I see so many amazingly beautiful homeschool rooms, but I know I am not the only one who homeschools without a homeschool “room.”
As a real mom homeschooling without a homeschool room, I want to give you a genuine list of things I actually use to organize our homeschool supplies. These are my favorite homeschool organization tips.

ClosetMaid 9 Cube Storage Shelf
One of the first purchases I made was a previous version of this ClosetMaid 9 Cube Storage Shelf. We do a lot of schooling in our dining room, and we needed a place for each of the kids to store their materials and books. One thing I love about these shelves is that you can put storage containers on top, and also that you can buy cube storage bins that sit nicely in the shelf.
Amazon Basics Collapsible Storage Cubes
They no longer make the brand of storage cubes I bought, but these Amazon Foldable Storage Cubes are very similar. They come in a pack of 6, and you can choose from various colors. Although white is what’s pictured, I recommend choosing a different color because, as a homeschool mom, you know these things will me a disaster quickly. Also, they’re pretty cheap and can easily be replaced.
EAGMAK 3-Tier Utility Cart
If you’re working on your homeschool setup for small spaces, I highly recommend this EAGMAK 3-Tier Utility Cart. I bought some cheap plastic cups from the dollar store a put all of the pencils in one, crayons in another, and colored pencils in another. We also have a shelf with all of our art supplies. The top shelf has some of their handicraft supplies. This is a great moving storage cart to put in a homeschool corner for easy access.
Ever had homeschool mom burnout? You need a homeschool mom retreat! Here’s how to make that happen!
4-Pack Pastel Collapsible Storage Crates
I like having storage quickly available, yet easy to keep stored away when not needed. We use these collapsible storage crates to transfer homeschool supplies when we take our school places, or for organizing short-term homeschool materials.
24-Pack Mesh Zipper Storage Pouch
There are several brands and varieties of these mesh zipper storage pouches, but they are great to have around. Every kid has a color, and they use it to store their own homeschool supplies. These are one of my favorite things for homeschool organization for small spaces because they can be used for so many things.
STORi 3-Piece Stackable Clear Containers
This set of STORi 3-Piece Stackable Clear Containers can be used as shown, but they’re also great for storing homeschool supplies. You can easily store it in your homeschool cabinet and put erasers, math counters, glue sticks, etc, in it.
TheWarmHome Storage Baskets for Organizing
We often have large books that don’t fit well on our bookshelves. I have these storage baskets sitting on our fireplace to hold those large books. They sit near our bookshelves, so all of the books are together. This is how I use them, but I could think of so many other great ways to use these storage bins for homeschool supply storage when you don’t have a homeschool room.
Over-the-Door Storage Organizer
When you’re short on storage space because you’re homeschooling without a homeschool room, I highly recommend having at least one of these over-the-door shoe organizers. There are various options available, but you can store everything in these, from small books to pencils, markers, scissors, etc.
Begale Plastic Storage Baskets
If it isn’t obvious yet, I LOVE storage containers! I appreciate having a place to put things and then place them on a shelf. I’m pretty convinced they are one of the best homeschool storage ideas. This set of 6 Begale Plastic Storage Baskets can be used for anything. They’re just the right length for storing pencils, markers, colored pencils, and crayons.
5 Qt Plastic Storage Containers with Lids
Last, but not least, I have the dollar store version of these plastic craft storage containers with lids. These are great for storing manipulatives. They could also be great for storing everyday homeschool supplies, too.
I hope you’ve gathered some great ideas on how to organize homeschool supplies without a homeschool room. These are the homeschool storage solutions I use in my home on a daily basis. I hope they help you organize your homeschool space, too!
